Well, some stuff came up, so I didn't get to play my game with Mordrak last weekend. In the meantime, I've been looking at the codex, and come up with a new list, which I will probably try next.
Librarian with Sanctuary, Shrouding, Quicksilver, Warp Rift.
10 Terminators with Halberds, 1 hammer, 2 psycannons, psyammo
10 GKSS with 1 hammer and 2 psycannons
10 GKSS with 1 hammer and 2 psycannons
2x Venerable Psydread
2x Dread Knight with personal Teleporter and Heavy Incinerator.
Low KPs, for the KP games, up to 6 scoring units.
The goal of this army was alot of durable firepower. This army will park in the middle of the board, and shoot stuff. The Dread Knights will provide counter charge / tarpitting if needed.
I am thinking of swapping out the Librarian for a GM with Psykotroke Grenades - I think the grand tactics might be more useful than Librarian powers in this particular list. Maybe keep the MM on the Psydreads, and making them half psydreads instead.
ReplyDeleteTo take it a step further, the Librarian and the GM, while both adding flexibility to the list in specific situations, may not be as good as two termie inquisitors with psycannons. Adding 2 more psycannons will probably give me the most consistant upgrade (and frees enough points to give the Termies psybolt too)
ReplyDeleteNow that the FAQ is out, the fists are only strength 6. I don't know why they would give a monster a dreadnought weapon, and then not let him use it, but it put a big dent in this list's anti-tank; I need to come up with 20 more points for the hammers I guess.
